Fishing at Loch Shin Holiday Lodges

There are many available opportunities for fishing and angling near to the Loch Shin Holiday Lodges. The Loch itself supports Salmon, Char, Sea-Trout and fighting Brown Trout.

Boats with outboard motors can be hired from the nearby Lairg Angling Club in Lairg itself - a quarter of a mile north of the main dam. Permits can be obtained from The secretary of the same club, or from other local organisations such as Sutherland Sporting Company and Ferrycroft Countryside Centre.

The area also sports some of the best Salmon rivers in Scotland - such as the Helmsdale and Brora - and great inland rivers like the Oykel, Cassley and Shin. Trout fishing is very popular in the region.

Permits for many of the other local angling attractions - including the Kyle of Sutherland and a number of local Lochs (such as Cracail, Buidhe, Laro) - can be obtained from the Kyle of Sutherland Angling Association via Strath Enterprise in Ardgay.
